Examining The Twilight Movie And Book English Literature Essay Essays Examining The Twilight Movie And Book English Literature Essay Paper Examining The Twilight Movie And Book English Literature Essay Paper For case, Edward was shocking to Bella. In the Twilight book, Edward over and again grinned a slanted grinning. Each clasp he did as such, Bella only could nt challenge holding or cherishing him. Stunning makes the book genuinely intriguing. Why? In the initial 3 books, Edward stuns Bella, yet in Breaking Dawn, Bella astonishes Edward. One of Bella s loved companions in Twilight the novel is Jessica. She is a sweet, guiltless miss who stays by Bella s side through everything. All things considered, each piece much as she can. Jessica can other than radiate the I m exorbitantly cool for you encountering. Subsequently, this is surely the ground why the film arranged Jessica and Lauren s characters together. In the film, Jessica and Lauren s character s are various together to do one ; Jessica. Evidently, Summit Entertainment could simply stand to hold one cattie character. It really matters to the story to hold the two characters. The distinction between characters is exceptionally fascinating. The assorted variety among Lauren and Jessica s character s is extremely of import. The film needs to cognize the contrast between them. Jessica is a lot kinder and all the more adoring, and Lauren is completely rude and rapacious. Lauren coordinates Jessica s thoughts ; she overwhelms her. Having the two characters sets a decent differentiation. Everybody realizes that James attempts to execute Bella. Be that as it may, does everybody cognize that James is actually the alpha of the Nomad kinfolk? Laurent puts on an incredible act trying to appear as though he s alpha. What does this demonstrate, however? That he needs to be alpha ? No 1, really knows why, however perhaps he feels power when he imagines. In the film, Laurent feigns to be alpha, yet the solitary existent hint we get is when Laurent discloses to Carlisle that James is, deadly. A different line from Laurent s film character is, James let s non play with our supplement, ( Twilight, Laurent ) demoing that James will tune in to Laurent. Typically the most grounded and sharpest is pioneer. James is a tracker, so he can happen individual by their fragrance, and that s his capacity. Laurent s power is on a very basic level simply his playing and affectation. He professes to be Bella s companion, and turns out, he needs to eat her himself, then again of rescue her for Victoria. Laurent demonstrates he has the conceivable to be a future family pioneer, yet can he really be? Perusing the book will do things simpler for one piece watching the film. Thingss will accomplish more sense. Bella s character non only changes as she develops, however when she changes from novel to film. In the book, Bella depicts herself to be a solitary wolf and difficult to partner to others of her sort ( human ) and doing companions. Bella simple pulls at serious risk and clumsiness Bella s quality of will is noticeably extraordinary. In the novel, Bella is more intelligent ; she realizes when to asseverate herself. In the film, she is only entirely fixated on him. Bella is a weakling in the film, each piece great. Edward should beseech Bella to permit him drive the truck. In the film, she only lets him! In the film Bella is so level, it s non that Bella s character is dispassionate, she s simply a held individual, so she genuinely cares about what her companions state and do, shes only timid, and ever feels like shes on the outskirt of the gathering. In the film she has no passionate reaction to them at all ; she could think less about them. The scene where Edward spares Bella from the rockerss is another representation where Bella can vary with Edward. He attempts to secure her to stay for supper, yet Bella says that she can non. In the film, she simply promptly consents to remain. Dramatically, Bella s character is standoffish, in that the solitary person that she will hold an on-going discussion with is Edward, or about Edward. Indeed, even her discussions with Edward are just about his masterfulness and the uncouth situation that they end up in, on the grounds that he is a lamia . Sundown as a novel was extremely sentimental and adorable. The temper is blended in the account. There are focuses in the story where it s glooming, glad, sentimental, amusive and different things all at once. The scramble of the account is tickle pinking. A situation that makes one state, Aw in Twilight is when Edward states, Before you, Bella, my life resembled a moonless dull. Dark, yet there were stars-purposes of noticeable radiation and ground And so you shot over my sky like a meteor. Abruptly everything was ablaze ; there was shine, there was magnificence. At the point when you were gone, when the meteor had fallen over the horizon, everything went dark. Nothing had changed, however my eyes were blinded by the noticeable radiation. I could nt see the stars any more. Furthermore, there was no more ground for anything. ( Meyer, 514, New Moon ) Edward expresses little things like these in the book, however why ca nt he state long, delightful talks in the film? The announced quot e can do one feel glad and shocking inside, only by perusing one section of a novel. The feelings you have while perusing a new sets your adoration or scorn for the book. The film, on the different manus, radiates an alternate temper. While watching the film, one can get the sentiment of disdain, by bothering of a character ; the film as a rule can do one despondent. Another inclination that is emitted is riddle. Is Edward a lamia or simply a tranquil male youngster? The sentiment of mystery makes them sit on the outskirt of your place asking what s making a trip to continue following if this is 1s first clasp perception. All together, the film and the film are extremely extraordinary from numerous points of view. Once in a while the film is superior to the book, in some cases it is slightness versa. Each book will ever hold all the more thing in it ; most occasions the novel is distributed premier, doing it the central plot line, so no issue what, the book will ever be all the more fascinating.

The Tragedy Of Julius Caesar And William Goldings Lord Of...
In William Shakespeares The Tragedy of Julius Caesar,William Goldingââ¬â¢s Lord of the Flies , and C. S. Lewisââ¬â¢s Out of the Silent Planet all depict how mankind is born innocent and turned to evil. The stories show that this conversion to evil is caused by the influence of society or characters acting in the place of a society. The corruptibility of mankind is illuminated in these texts. The treachery, dishonesty, and murder as shown in the stories are not acts of innocence. In their books, the authors point out that mankind is not innately evil but instead born innocent and converted to evil by society. The Tragedy of Julius Caesar is a story about the death of the first Roman dictator, Julius Caesar. Caesars followers kill him in orderâ⬠¦show more contentâ⬠¦Golding uses the characters from Lord of the Flies just as Shakespeare did to prove that man is turned to evil. The narrative illustrates a story about a group of British boys who get stranded on a deserted island without any adults. This lack of a stable society and presence of leadership forces the boys to create their own, and this works for the boys for a while. The boys turn themselves into savages and begin to do evil deeds which continue to get worse until they are rescued. In the time between their rescue, the society the boys create devolves and turns them into savages although this was not always the case. When the boys first arrived, Ralph, the fair haired boy, attempts to lead them in a civilized manner, but through the influence of Jack, many of the boys become evil. Jack mutants against Ralph saying, ââ¬Å " Im not going to be a part of Ralph lot... Im going off by myself. He can catch his own pigs. Anyone who wants to hunt when I do can come too,â⬠(Golding 127) in saying this Jack has made most of the boys on the island betray their leader which proves both Jack and his followers to be evil. The society the boys created glorifies violence and death:ââ¬Å"... the boysâ⬠¦ found themselves eager to take part in this dementedâ⬠¦ society.â⬠(Golding 152). Essay about Akhenaten Heretic Man or Visionary Pharaoh
Pharaohs were governors of the Ancient Egyptian realm who broadcasted themselves as sons of gods who upheld Maââ¬â¢at ââ¬â the Egyptian order of life. Most pharaohs ruled in a typical and expected way carrying the beliefs of their ancestors- though not all ruled this way. Akhenaten of the 18th Dynasty New Kingdom was not an ââ¬Å"archetypalâ⬠pharaoh as seen through his goal to change Egyptian religion from polytheism to monotheism and through his building project in Amarna. Though he used traditional means to incorporate his changes he did so in an atypical way. After all his attempts at reform all was forgotten when he died and Egypt returned to the religious beliefs it had beforehand. This essay will analyse historical evidence that demonstratesâ⬠¦show more contentâ⬠¦Thus, as shown in the sources above, the religious changes Akhenaten implemented went completely against the ways of previous pharaohs providing proof that Akhenaten was not an archetypal pharaoh . Furthermore, Akhenaten sought to remove the power of the priesthood and so he moved the capital from Thebes to a new ground where he made a new capital for his own god Aten: Akhetaten or El-Amarna. This is categorically stated by English Egyptologist, Reeves (2001) who argues that El-Amarna was well structured and as mysterious as Akhenaten and his wife themselves. It is also said that Amarna was well suited topographically and precisely midway between the traditional Egyptian borders unlike Thebes which was the centre of Greater Egypt. The city didnââ¬â¢t solely bare the traditional temples but also included a higher class residential quarter in the South Suburb with large floor areas where many notable individuals lived including

Cultural Analysis of The Coldest Winter Ever Essay Example For Students
Cultural Analysis of The Coldest Winter Ever Essay The Coldest Winter Ever Born Lisa Williamson in 1964, Sister Souljah is a hip-hop artist that burst to the forefront of mainstream media in 1992 when she was criticized by then Presidential candidate Bill Clinton for saying If Black people kill black people every day, why not have a week and kill white people? Clinton was trying to prove to other Democrats that he did not sympathize with the organization that Souljah was a member of. She basically said Bill Clinton and went on to sign music and publishing contracts. She has become one of the more passionate and articulate voices to emerge speaking for young African Americans in the United States. She has written and published to works: No Disrespect, and autobiographical account of Souljahs life, and The Coldest Winter Ever. The Coldest Winter Ever tells of the story of a young woman named Winter. She was born into a family drug operation. Her father was a drug kingpin. Winter never knew about struggles in life. She always had the best of the best; everyone wanted to be like her. This was all taken away when her fathers operation is busted and he goes to jail for the rest of his life. Winter, who has never known poverty, is faced with trying to survive while attempting to continue living in the extravagance to which she has become accustomed. The story follows Winter from the time she is fifteen until she is about twenty-five, in prison serving time for a crime for possessing drugs that belonged to her boyfriend. The story ends with Winter still in jail, not the usual happy ending that accompanies fictional novels. This real life ending is the most important aspect of this novel. Karl Marx argues in The German Ideology that material allows for more culture. Material is the road to true humanity. These materials are not only those things that we possess, such as cars, clothes, and houses, but also material that we gain through life experience itself. Winter defines her life by material. For her, money is God. She begins referencing her material items at once, from the diamond ring set in 24-karat gold she received the day she was born, to the diamond tennis bracelet she received on her sixteenth birthday, to the designer clothes she wore that no one else had or could afford. Even after she has no money because of her fathers arrest, she continues to spend what little money she has on what is considered in style. Winter does not possess the will to put her money to the side and live within her means. This illustrates a problematic aspect of the African American community. Material identity has become a prevalent aspect surrounding the hip-hop community. Material is illustrated most often through the type of car a person drives and the accessories that they put on it. It is also illustrated through clothes and jewelry. This bar judged men that Winter would consider dating. Souljah uses Winters love of material possessions to illustrate what becomes the downfall of many people in the African America community. Although it took Winter getting put in jail to realize the error of her ways, she has learned a valuable life lesson that can sometimes only be learned through personal experience. In the end of the book she is talking to her sister, is involved with a drug dealer. Winter starts to tell her sister to change her ways, but realizes that her words of advice will fall of deaf ears. She says to herself, Hell, Im not meddling in other peoples business. 7 Body Language Tricks That Will Improve Your Reputation at Work
7 Body Language Tricks That Will Improve Your Reputation at Work Body language can be surprisingly important. If youââ¬â¢re just starting out, or youââ¬â¢re a new manager, or even if youââ¬â¢ve been a boss for decades, there are a few tricks you should make sure to keep in your arsenal to appear more powerful and assert yourself in your career. 1. Make Eye ContactLook people in the eye whenever youââ¬â¢re being spoken to. Itââ¬â¢s both commanding and polite. If it makes you too nervous to look directly in the eyes, try looking at the nose or ears- just make sure your focus is on their face.2. Delay Your SmileInstead of smiling the second you meet someone, take one moment just to look at them and consider them for a second, then- and only then- give them your biggest, warmest smile. Even a delay smaller than one second can give an air of sincerity to your post-assessment.3. Count BlinksIf you count your conversation partnerââ¬â¢s blinks, you not only can increase your feelings of warmth and respect for that person by focusing your attention, but you can also ensure that youââ¬â¢re making good eye contact!4. Use Your HandsCharismatic leaders tend to talk with their hands. It makes you look commanding and powerful, so go ahead and incorporate your natural gestures into your speech.5. Pay Attention to PostureMake sure youââ¬â¢re sitting or standing upright and with your head held high. This can actually trick your brain into feeling more positive and powerful. And sends a strong signal.6. Donââ¬â¢t FidgetTry limiting the fidgeting- this includes crossing and re-crossing your legs. Minimizing your movement will often maximize your credibility and make people feel more comfortable in your presence.7. Try the SteepleTry putting your hands in the steeple position, with your fingertips together. This is a strangely powerful gesture that communicates confidence, listening skills, and competence almost effortlessly. Extra points if you lean back while doing it.

Fifty Shades of Grey Why So Much Fuss
Fifty Shades of Grey Why So Much Fuss The major event of the last weekend apart from St. Valentines day? The premier of scandalous movie 50 Shades of Grey of course. Why the book and the movie Fifty Shades of Grey actually got so popular? Should you rush to the cinema and see it immediately or is it just another marketing hype? Should you ever criticize it in public? Lets try to figure this out. Itââ¬â¢s super-easy to Google ââ¬Å"50 Shades of Greyâ⬠right now and get a really basic idea of the ferocious reaction so far from movie lovers and critics across the board. For example, hereââ¬â¢s an Eagle Eye view from IMBD: Okay, so out of close to 62,000 people, itââ¬â¢s got a score of 4 out of 10. Ouch. Totally unexpected based on the popularity of the 2011 erotic romance novel and the amount of fuss surrounding the film leading up to release. Then of course thereââ¬â¢s headlines like these from platforms in the ilk of Variety ââ¬â ââ¬Å"Box Office: Fifty Shades of Grey Explodes With Record-Breaking $81.7 Millionâ⬠. So low ranks an bad reviewsbut the books becomes bestseller and the movie breaks the records ââ¬â what are the reasons for that? Typical Love Story for Women If we look at the actual stats from IMDb we see that the reviews are absolutely dominated by females (especially in the under 18 demographic). This shouldnââ¬â¢t be a shock to anyone: The story hit its target audience ââ¬â women looking for a wealthy attractive man in suit who is able to make any woman happy. It follows the pattern of famous Hollywood stories, starting from beauty and the beast ââ¬â ending with Twilight. Each time women believe that no matter how hurt they are they will be able to change men to good husbands/lovers/fathers and make a happy end of that weird relationships. Lie? Yes, but somehow it still works! Bad PR Is Still PR If we head over to the actual reviews, it gets real ugly, real fast. Without going too deeply into all this negativity and movie bashing hereââ¬â¢s the current headings of the reviews on the first page as of when this article was written: Just as I predicted! 1 Star This movie raped my Intelligence: 1 Star My godâ⬠¦this was awful: 1 Star Oh this film was just DREADFUL! 1 Star Yeesh, that was a whole lot of nothing: 2 Stars 100 Shades of Terrible: 1 Star It just goes on, and on, and on. What gives? Apparently, this movie demolished all expectations. Check out this quote from Vox contributor Alex Abad-Santos: ââ¬Å"Seen through the lens of a sci-fi romantic comedy about a man whos barely human and the awkward woman who comes to love him, Fifty Shades is a masterpiece of subversion and dark humor - and much, much better than anything our kinky minds could have imagined.â⬠Sci-fi romantic comedy? Wait, what? Others describe it as the male shovanistic TV show Mad Men on parabolic steroids. The most common notion is that while it was meant to be a creative take on the books (which most of the women watching the movie have read) itââ¬â¢s too predictable and the production value didnââ¬â¢t make up for the vapid acting and unengaging chemistry between the protagonist and antagonist. The Story Setting In reality, we should step back and look at 50 Shades of Grey story from a much more grand social-economic perspective. Here are three things going on in America and the western world in general that have a direct influence on the way this story is being received: Global economic shift with ââ¬Å"suitsâ⬠being demonized. Traditional sexual roles for men and women being erased or flipped on their head. Rampant over-sexualization thanks to internet porn. Roughly half to 60% of all males and females in the 18-44 demographic in western societies are either divorced or single. Thatââ¬â¢s a fact. At least according to poles and such. Furthermore, weââ¬â¢re in a part of the social cycle where men are being demonized, not just men in suits. Although the oligarch-type and the Wall Street-type are being targeted toâ⬠¦ Unprecedented income equality levels. Trillions in ââ¬Å"bail-outs/insâ⬠The control that multinational corporations seem to hold over world governments. When we put all these pressure together, stuff them into a modern man or women searching for their place in a quagmire-society and then sit them in front of a movie that uses these pain-points to create a somewhat outlandish representation of society, power, and relationshipsâ⬠¦well, it makes for some sizzling hot PR! The Mass Is Vile This is a perfect representation of how backwards society is becoming. Everywhere we look the response is overwhelmingly negative and yet sales are breaking records. Hordes of people sholdering their way through ticket and snackbar lines to take their seat and see if itââ¬â¢s as bad as everyone says it is. In a mad world, madness is the only source of real entertainment. In a juxtaposed and confused society, the worse something is, the better? It was Charlie Chapline who said: Man as an individual is a genius. But men in the mass form the headless monster, a great, brutish idiot that goes where prodded. The Influence of Media The only critics that seem to actually like the movie are more well-known and from more mainstream sources: The Telegraph: ââ¬Å"isnt nearly as painful as it could have beenâ⬠¦Ã¢â¬ The Guardian: ââ¬Å"The bulk of the film, really, is Ana deciding whether or not to embrace the role of Christianââ¬â¢s new submissive.â⬠New York Magazine: ââ¬Å"Superb!â⬠So in terms of people, horrid but worth spending money on. In terms of mainstream critics, the movie is a love/hate piece of cinematic art that slaps the viewer in the face, especially if they read the original book. The more coverage (no matter) positive or negative the story gets ââ¬â the more attention is brought to it. That results in fame and money ââ¬â simple as 1-2-3. Still doubt if you should see the 50 shades of grey movie? Or read the book? Well, life is short, if this many people are hating on it, you might completely LOVE it. The key is walking into the cinema without any expectations whatsoever. This is not the story that needs overthinking. Take it for what it is. To make it really interesting, in your mind look at the main male and female duo as society (played by Dakota Johnson) and the power-elite (played by Jamie Dornan).

Ethic in social work and nursing....managerialism Essay
Ethic in social work and nursing....managerialism - Essay Example Upon inspecting the patientââ¬â¢s house, the social worker discovered that the house is not fit to live in due to the presence of faeces, urine dirty clothes and waste materials all over the floor. As an end result, the house was full of mice, rats and insects that could negatively affect the patientââ¬â¢s physical health. The social workers did not consider paying the patientââ¬â¢s house cleaning expenses as an option. Therefore, the hospital paid for his bed occupancy, food and washing to keep the man healthy until someone made the cleaning arrangements in the patientââ¬â¢s house. For this study, the researcher will discuss the health and social care workersââ¬â¢ ethical and professional dilemmas behind the case of the 65-year old patient in relation to the anti-discriminatory practices. Upon exploring the health professional ethics in the light of the organizational legal and social contexts, the researcher will discuss the proper health care management on how the case of the 65-year old patient should be addressed. In the process, the researcher will provide some case-based illustrations as part of demonstrating the researcherââ¬â¢s personal understanding and informed judgement over the professional ethical dilemmas. As part of UKââ¬â¢s health practice, the health and social care workers are required not to discriminate their patients for any reasons. (Brayne & Carr, 2005) In line with this matter, health and social care workers should equally practice the law of beneficence to all patients in the sense that all health and social care workers are required to do only good actions that may contribute positive effects to the overall welfare of the patients. (Mental Health Act, 2005; DOH, 2001b ) The social care workers in the case of the 65-year old patient did practice the law of beneficence since they have decided on what is the best way to promote the health condition of the old patient. Aside from the need to abide with the law of confidentiality (Mental

American Political System - Essay Example In addition, many historians feel that that the exit strategy was executed in a hasten manner and was different than the exit date. Both Kennedy and Nixon felt that Vietnam could be saved even though that was not the case as the pressure from American public continued to mount (ââ¬Å"Isolationismâ⬠). As a world power, it was crucial that the United States made a stand to solidify their position as a world superpower. When JFK ordered his troops to withdraw from Vietnam in 1963, it was a clear symbolization that Johnson would have executed the same order. According to many historians, the judgment was derived through the Johnsonââ¬â¢s statement as he states, ââ¬Å"To Kennedy and his fellow New Frontiersmen, it was a doctrine of faith that the problems of Vietnam lent themselves to an American solutionâ⬠(Perkins 20). The Kennedy administration in essence felt that the problems associated with Vietnam were in geopolitical terms. As part of the containment policy, Kennedy considered Vietnam to be highly risky. As the toll of death count continued to stagger, the American public became weary of the Kennedy administration (Perkins 24.) The implications were endless because South Vietnam remained to be in chaos and could have fallen under the rule of communism (Brooks 8). In essence, the Vietnam War served as a testament of the constant struggle of American foreign policy to fight against communism or any methodology that risks Democracy. This is depicted even in modern century as America continues to enforce democracy in other parts of the

Commentary on my creative writing piece focusing on The Dubliners Essay Example for Free
Commentary on my creative writing piece focusing on The Dubliners Essay After completing my story, I thought I would say how the story that I had written related to the story The Dubliners. The story that I wrote, I related to the theme of paralysis and the risk of death, a vision of the future and also a little about money, which is used in The Dubliners. I chose this viewpoint on the story as I thought it would relate well to the background I was using. Especially the theme of death would work well, as death is a very common situation so it helped when I dramatised the theme. Also I decided to use the times of today, as I thought it would be more easier to relate to The Dubliners using a situation in a lower/ middle class background, but using a cultural difference. I also decided to use third person narrative, as I thought it would be clearer in third person. I did try to use first person, but I had a bit of difficulty in putting a point across, so I decided to use third person, as I found it much more flowing to do. I decided to start off with a line, which explained the background so the story would be easier to understand, as I used a different culture. If I had gone straight into a story, the story may have been hard to understand. I included a little introduction to the character and the backgrounds, so the reader would notice what culture I was trying to show and how I was trying to relate it to The Dubliners. I think the introduction to the character and the culture, is a very important thing in my story. This was only in the beginning, but when I used a little climax. I used a twist in the middle of my story, to make sure the reader would be more interested and engaged to read on. The method I used was an everyday experience, which seemed like a big thing. This helped me to use the theme of vision of the future, with the character knowing there would be more trouble. The ending I used both of the themes of death and vision of future. I think death was a very important in the whole story, which showed the theme of paralysis. I used the theme of vision of future, as the character had death on their mind through the whole story, and this helped to use the theme of death. I think I can relate this to The Dubliners, as the theme of paralysis and the theme of death and darkness is used very often. I chose to end the story in this way as it dramatises the themes in which that I used. Also I used description, with a stressful atmosphere used. I think this ending suits the culture in which I wrote the story about. As it is believed that shootings are made in this background a lot. This I thought would be the best way to end my story. I think I thought about my main character quite a lot, especially with the culture to take in account. Also, the use of the characters pride and making the character emotional about death and escape. This helped me to explain how the character was feeling. I think I used the character well in the situation, because the background and culture is like real life. I have read and researched situation like this and deaths are always happening. This is why it was important, that I made sure the character, language and the actions were correct. This in my opinion was the best thing to do was research a little about the background, also things such as drugs, typical backgrounds, and even clothing I researched so I made sure the situation was just like real life and not something in reality. I used the background and the subject matter as it all related to one thing. Especially the setting and atmosphere, which all related to death. I used the subject of stress in my story as well, the whole theme of stress, occurred to me as a good way in which to escape or a good way to look for escape. Stress can usually consist of anger and frustration, which is how it is related to The Dubliners. These emotions are shown within my story and also The Dubliners. The language I used in my story was descriptive and also gave good and relevant information, when was needed. As I used a different content of language, I had to explain what some words meant. Also I think my story would sound effective if it was to be read out loud, as the situation is real and can happen in life. Maybe in some cases people can relate to this kind of story, as it can also send a message across about gangs, firearms, drugs, and also maybe drinking. After writing this story I think that this has many themes which could be related to the story, The Dubliners. As you can see I have included themes such as death, escape, darkness and also vision for the future. I think these themes helped me to relate the story with the best use, as cultural I was not sure on which to write a story about, that is why I used a different culture, in which I found more interesting to write about.

Computers in Education :: Teaching Education Essays
Computers in Education The computer has influenced education in a very positive way. There are now an estimated ten million computers in schools around the country. Computers equally benefit both the teacher and students. The computer allows for faster, neater, and more creative assignments. Tools such as the Internet, Excel, Word, and Access allow students to easier research and prepare papers. Computers are very helpful to teachers. Many teachers can take advantage of the computers in their classroom or at home by entering grades and allowing the computer to compute them. Entering the grades can be very simple and fast. Allowing the computer to compute the grades saves time from manually computing them. The teacher can also set up attendance on the computer. This is a quick and effective way to see who has missed class, or has been tardy. All this only requires the right type of software, and very little time. Educational software can also help a teacher out. If a student is having trouble with a particular Math, English or Science strategy, a teacher can setup the program to help teach the student. This is helpful because the teacher can continue teaching the rest of the class, but also know that the other child is being helped. The computer allows for a new creative way of teaching, one that can keep the students interested. Many students today rely on the computer for homework assignments. This can range from typing a paper to finding a book on the Internet. Many homework assignments for high school and college students must be typed. Some assignments may also require charts or tables. The computer can suggest different phrases or words to make the paper sound better, use spell check, and allow the document to be saved. This also helps a teacher because the papers are much neater, making them easier to read. It is very beneficial to the student because information can be found and processed a lot faster. If a student is trying to find a book, just typing in a few words can locate the book much faster then looking through a card catalog. These are little things that save the student and teacher time. With all the time that is saved, the more learning can take place.

Organizational Behavior at Accenture Essay
1. Introduction This paper gives an overview of the organizational behavior (Organizational Structure, Culture, and Leadership) at Accentureââ¬â the last organization I worked with. Accenture is an international management consulting, technology services and outsourcing organization, with approximately 0.25 million people and clients in more than 120 countries. It has generated net revenue of US$ 27.9 billion for last fiscal year i.e. 31 st August 2012. (Accenture,2012) 2. Organizational Structure 2.1 Accentureââ¬â¢s Structure ââ¬â At A Glance Organizationââ¬â¢s structure divides the organizational activities and co-ordinates them to achieve the aim of the organization. Accenture is organized into various partially overlapping industry areas that allow the clients to choose from a variety of integrated consulting services. It upholds four global operations workforces: 1. Consulting 2. Servicing 3. Solutions 4. Enterprise Table 2.1 highlights five operating groups and their respective 19 industry groups within the organization. (Accenture Facts,2012) Financial services Banking Capital Market Insurance Health & Public Services Health Public Services Communications , Media & Technology Communication Electronics & High Tech Media & Entertainment Product Automotive Air, Freights & Travel Services Consumer Goods & Services Industrial Equipment Infrastructure & Transportation Resources Chemical Energy Natural Resources Utilities Table 2.1 The figure below displays the organizational chart of Accenture and explains how different sub-units interact with each other. Exam Number: B031449 Page 3 of 11 Figure 2.1 Accentureââ¬â¢s Organizational structure (Source: Official board, 2012) 2.2 Analyzing the Structure of Accenture Buchanan and Huczynski (2010) defined seven key elements of organizational structure and in this section, we will see how they relate to Accenture as an organization. It can be easily inferred from the organizational structure (Figure 2.1) and Work group division (Table 2.1) that Accenture is a large complex organization that requires its employees to be highly specialized in the tasks allocated to them to ensure that quality work is delivered. In order to make sure that all the employees are highly skilled with respect to their tasks, an intense induction takes place in the beginning of their journey in the organization. Accenture follows a tall organizational hierarchy structure due to its diverse workforce and workgroups where Span ââ¬âof ââ¬âControl for a Manager depends on the size of the project. Within the solutions workforce, in a single project, following hierarchy exists: Figure 2.2 Hierarchies in a project For example, Span of Control for the project in which I worked was a 96: Designation Programmers (10) Senior Programmers (8) Analyst Programmer (6) Team Lead (4) Manager Span of Control One Team lead , supervises 24 resources One Manager supervises 4 team-leads. So total Span of Control = 96 The tasks in each project in the Solutions workforce are departmentalized into different submodules i.e. Analysis, Design & Build, and Testing. Department of Analysis is responsible for creating business artifacts that detail out clientââ¬â¢s requirement and proposed solution to achieve it. These artifacts are then passed to the Design & Build Team who create the high-level design documents and develops the products which client has asked for. Once the product is delivered, it is then passed on to the testing team to ensure that the final product is as per the business artifacts and there are no issues encountered. Accenture is highly formalized organization, where each project while working on a clientââ¬â¢s requirement has to adhere to the policies, procedures and norms set by Accenture as well as the clients. This is one of the key approaches to gain the clientââ¬â¢s trust. Since project managers have the authority to take decision related to their respective projects, we can call Accenture as highly centralized organization. 3. Organizational Culture Culture is embedded and reflected in every aspect of an organization. As stated by Ravasi, D., Schultz, M. (2006), organizational culture is a lay down of shared intellectual assumptions, which guide understanding and action in an organization by defining suitable behavior for diverse situations. Figure 3.1 is a three-layer model for organizational culture developed by Edgar Schein (2004). Figure 3.1: Scheinââ¬â¢s three levels of culture ââ¬â Source (Bohine, Markham, 2003) Insight on Accentureââ¬â¢s Culture 1. Scheinââ¬â¢s three levels of Culture a) The first level i.e. Observable level is the most visible layer. Table 3.1 highlights few of the Surface manifestation of culture at Accenture Manifestation Ceremonials Course Norms Slogan Symbol Accenture Fun Fridays, sporting events, monthly birthday celebrations, quarterly awards Greenfield training for the new employees where the number of days varies from 1 week to 6 weeks depending on the employees Code of Business conduct led by multiple policies High Performance Delivered Accenture has six core values (Accenture Core Values) ââ¬â Stewardship: Fulfilling our obligation of building a better, stronger and more durable company for future generations, protecting the Accenture brand, meeting our commitments to stakeholders, acting with an owner mentality, developing our people and helping improve communities and the global environment Best People: Attracting, developing and retaining the best talent for our business, challenging our people, demonstrating a ââ¬Å"can-doâ⬠attitude and fostering a collaborative and mutually supportive environment Client Value Creation: Enabling clients to become high-performance businesses and creating long-term relationships by being responsive and relevant and by consistently delivering value. One Global Network: Leveraging the power of global insight, relationships, collaboration and learning to deliver exceptional service to clients wherever they do business Respect for Individual: Valuing diversity and unique contributions, fostering a trusting, open, and inclusive environment and treating each person in a manner that reflects Accentureââ¬â¢s values. Integrity: Being ethically unyielding and honest and inspiring trust by saying what we mean, matching our behaviors to our words and taking responsibility for our actions Rewards and Recognition in Accenture: Accenture has various ways of acknowledging an employeeââ¬â¢s contribution towards achieving the ââ¬Å"High Qualityâ⬠work. In addition to promotion, few of the awards given by Accenture (specific to solutions domain) are: ACE Award ââ¬â Accenture Celebrates Excellence is an award given on quarterly basis to the employees who show outstanding performance during a quarter in their respective industrial groups. The nominations for these awards are forwarded by the project manager along with the citation to justify the nominations. Innovator for the quarter ââ¬â This category of award is held at different project levels and is awarded to an individual or group of people who have innovated something to either add value to the client or helped in increasing automated work to save on efforts. Star of the month ââ¬â This category of award is also held at project level where the work of an employee performing extraordinary is acknowledged. Propel Awards ââ¬â This category of award is held at industrial group level where the employees are awarded against different criteriaââ¬â¢s e.g. Adding Value to Client, Organizing quality work and anticipating critical situations etc. Celebrating Performance ââ¬â Celebrating performance is a tool through which Team leads and above acknowledges the work of an individual by giving them some points. These points can be redeemed via a shopping catalog holding a range of different things. c) The third level i.e. basic assumption is invisible layer. It is the perception held by individuals concerning human behavior. As mentioned earlier, this cannot be seen but felt by the individuals and hence is difficult to be described in words for any organization. 2. On analyzing Accenture based on different Cultural framework and Cultural typologies it can be said that Accenture falls into Role culture and Communal culture. The justification for this goes below: ï⠧ Accenture is very much driven by its policies, procedures, and rules, which makes it high on formalization aspect. Figure 2.1 clearly shows the level of hierarchy that Accenture has. Managers at top of the hierarchy work as per their roles and specializations that make Accenture a highly centralized organization and hence putting it into a Role culture. However, if we deep dive to the lowest division i.e. the Projects, the task to be achieved is allocated at the Managerial level and is then cascaded down to different team members based on their expertise. The aim of the team is to ensure the task is delivered on time and with a high quality. For example, in my projects, there were times when a task demanding high expertise on specific domain were assigned to the senior programmers instead of the team leads. This clearly displays that the project division is on to the Task culture i.e. high formalization, low centralization where people are acknowledged based on their expertise and not just position. ï⠧ Accenture has very strict entry criteria and employees who suit the working environment are selected. Once the employees are in the company, another level of assessment happens to check the skills to identify which project who the employee be best suited for. During an initial phase in the project, the employees are giving an intensive training about the core values of Accenture as well as the client that they are working for. The roles and goals for each individual are made clear right from the beginning and each employee is expected to have a degree of flexibility to switch the roles as and when required. All these characteristics make Accenture falls into the category of Communal culture i.e. High Sociability and high solidarity. 4. Leadership Walt Disney said, ââ¬Å"You can dream, create, design, and build the most wonderful place in the world, but it requires people to make the dream a realityâ⬠(Disney, 2011) Accenture groups skills, competencies, and personality traits of effective leaders into three vital pillars (Accenture Leadership): Visionary Evangelist- They see possibilities and inspire others with their vision; they know where the company is headed and what its customers will value in the future. Relationship Builder-They enlist the support and capabilities of others by building loyalty, motivating and engaging. Manager of Execution- They provide structure, discipline and a sense of priorities to get things done. Paul Hersey and Ken Blanchard (1998) described the concept of situational leadership. Situational leadership is an approach of identifying the most effective way of motivating, directing, and supporting employees to get the work done. Whether it is the leaders at the top of hierarchy (CEO) or the leaders at the lowest division (project managers), leadership style in Accenture varies depending upon the situation. Figure 4.1 Situational Leadership Model (Source: Davidmerzel, 2012) How Leadership style works in Accenture When an employee is new to a project or the organization, it is ensured that a counselor and a supervisor are assigned to him. It is supervisorââ¬â¢s responsibility to ensure that the employee understand the norms and the working culture of the project and Councilor helps the employee with the career aspirations and issues (if any) faced by him while working in the project. In other words, it can be said that supervisor acts as the coach and councilor supports the employee at the same time. Supervisor and the Councilor are not the same person and it is the councilor who remains the same throughout the journey in Accenture where as supervisors keep of changing as when an employee progresses. Once an employee displays the ability and the skills required to tasks assigned (i.e. generally at Analyst Programmer level), the work is then delegated where very few directions and support are required. At no point in Accenture, you would find a leader portraying the directive leadership. Support and mentoring is always provided until an employee is capable to work on his own. 5. Synopsis Accenture is an organization on the move, one that is engaged in a good range of projects in various locations. Its culture varies from one extreme to another depending on the client and the geographical location of the office in which one reside. Employees, working at the client site, particularly for extended periods, find themselves following clientââ¬â¢s culture as well as Accentureââ¬â¢s. It has a youthful environment that helps in making contacts, which lasts as an employee moves from project to project. In spite of the youthful, work-hard/play-hard atmosphere, employees strictly adhere to Accentureââ¬â¢s high standards, which require dedication and discipline on behalf of the employees. People at Accenture genuinely respect and admire each other. Willingness to help others and strong interpersonal skills are more common that being self-centered. This can be easily seen by the prompt responses of peers in different cities and countries towards any technical query being raised at the companyââ¬â¢s portal. To summaries, Accenture surely is a strong cultured and centralized organization where the core values of the organization and clientââ¬â¢s both are kept in mind and at the same time its ensured that employeeââ¬â¢s professional aspirations are also met. I would definitely say a great place to work! 6. References (Arranged alphabetically) 1. All across the United States, students learn that Christopher Columbus sailed the ocean blue in 1492 and ââ¬Å"discoveredâ⬠North America. This common misconception creates a false narrative for Americans learning about Christopher Columbusââ¬â¢ legacy - and indeed about the countryââ¬â¢s early post-European history. When Christopher Columbus came ashore, North America was already inhabited by hundreds of thousands of native peoples so the concept of Christopher Columbus somehow ââ¬Å"discoveringâ⬠what is now the United States of America is inaccurate. He did, however, set off a process of conquering the land and its people for the Western World. He did so through brutal tactics including forced labor, enslavement, violence, and widespread killing.â⬠¦show more contentâ⬠¦The Arawak people welcomed Columbus and his men as if they were gods. In return, Columbus took advantage of their generosity and responded with enslavement, torture, violence and mass killin gs. A person who takes advantage of an innocent person or group in these ways is not a hero, a good leader, or a good person. Furthermore, Columbus began enslaving the natives for more reasons than free labor. He needed something profitable to show the King and Queen of Spain, and Columbus decided that Europe could use slaves too. Columbus was planning a return trip home to Spain. His idea was to bring some Arawaks with him and show them to the King and Queen of Spain. Queen Isabella would see how valuable a slave market could be, and she would give Columbus more money and the title that he was promised. Ever since day one, Columbus made his thoughts and intentions extremely well-known through the bindings of his journal. In one excerpt from his journal, Columbus wrote, ââ¬Å"They would make fine servantsâ⬠¦ With fifty men we could subjugate them all and make them do whatever we wantâ⬠(Columbus qtd. in Zinn 1). Christopher Columbus did not think about how his actions would impact others. Columbus thought about what would turn a profit for himself. Columbus packed up and left for his voyage back t o Spain with Arawak peoples on board his ships. Unfortunately, many Arawaks did not make it to Spain because they died on the voyage. Chinese and American Foreign Policy Essay - 2242 Words
Chinese and American Foreign Policy Since the fall of the Soviet Union, the Cold War was over, making the U.S. the only superpower left in the world. This has made the international system much more tranquil, and relaxed. The only country potentially powerful besides the U.S., is China. Many Americans fear China, not only because they are communist, but also because of their huge population. Their population is 1.3 billion people, which accounts 1/5th of the worldââ¬â¢s population. As one of the only potential superpowers in the world, it would be in the best interest of all Americans if the U.S. and China became allies, instead of enemies. However the Chinese dictator died in September 1976, he was hailed abroad as one of the worldsââ¬â¢ great l eaders. Certainly one of the more impressive aspects of the Chinese communist government, has been the willingness of the people to protest against it (3, pg. 4). China has been in a state of revolution and reform since the Sino-Japanese war of 1895. As a result of Japanââ¬â¢s victory over Russia in 1905, Chinaââ¬â¢s constitutional reform movement gathered momentum. This forced the Manchu government by public opinion to make gestures of preparation for a constitutional government, an act to which reformers in exile responded enthusiastically by establishing a Political Participation Society (Cheng-wen-she) (1, pg.84). The apparent willingness of the Manchu government to consider constitutional reform naturally removed some of the assumptions for revolution and impeded its progress. This helped to sharpen the already intense conflicts that occurred between the reformists and the revolutionaries. In efforts to check this unfavorable tide, the Chinese student revolutionaries in Tokyo extended their war of words to physical combat. Unfortunately the revolutionaries victory over the reformists in Tokyo was not equal to (5=Zhaoxing, Li, ââ¬Å"Seeking Common Ground,â⬠Show MoreRelatedRelations Between The United States And China1620 Words à |à 7 PagesSince 1899, America has maintained an open door policy with China. Buddhism Essay Conclusion Example For Students
Buddhism Essay Conclusion High in the mountains of the Himalayas chants ring out from the Tibetan monastery. For most this is a dream-like vacation to a far away land. For some of the people who live in Tibet and India this is everyday life as a Buddhist. Buddhism revolves around a strict code of daily rituals and meditations. To an outsider they can seem mystical or even odd, but these are the paths to enlightenment and spiritual salvation. Throughout the centuries, Buddhism has evolved into a major religion in Asia and other parts of the world. The mystical roots of Buddhism can be traced back to the first century BCE. Buddhism began with the birth of Siddhartha Gautama. When Siddhartha was born he was noticed as having the 32 auspicious signs of an enlightened one (Clark and Brown 3). His father, fearing Siddhartha would shun his inheritance, confined him to the walls of the palace, never allowing his son to experience want or suffering. However, Siddhartha on several occasions ventured outside the confines of the palace. On one of his visits into the city he saw an ascetic begging for alms in the city square. It was then that he realized that there was meaning beyond physical existence (Clark and Brown 3).Siddhartha then gave up his possessions to search for enlightenment. He discovers that by following the path of moderation, one can become enlightened (Clark and Brown 3). And so, he attained Buddhahood. Afterwards Buddha, the name given to an enlightened one, travels through India preaching and educating others about th e middle path (Clark and Brown 3). From this, Buddhism was born. The religion of Buddhism is not entirely in a sphere of its own. In fact, it combines several influences born in and around the Asian continent. The first religious influence is Taoism. Taoism embraces the belief in the fluid like spirit that flows throughout everyone and everything. The primary belief of Taoists is that the universe is in constant change. Taoists believe that nature and the earth is constantly in flux. Simply, the onlyconstant in the world is change. When individuals learn that growth and movement are natural and necessary, they can become balanced (Clark and Brown 7). Taoism teaches self-control and the importance of meditation in searching for enlightenment. The second influence is Confucianism. Put simply, Confucianism is the quest for order (Clark and Brown 8). Although it teaches the balance of family with society, Confucianism is more of a political ideology. In Asia, it concerns the division of property among citizens. Lastly, among others, is Zen. This is the most important of Buddhist practice. Zen is more a ritual than a written in stone doctrine. The rituals deal with meditation and the path to enlightenment. Zen Buddhismis the basic practice of meditation in order to reach peace within ones self (Clark and Brown 8). For most Buddhists it is Zen that leads the way to enlightenment. The practice involves reflecting upon ones self and meditating in order to reach spiritual salvation, or Nirvana, the highest level of spiritual peace. Buddhist practice can generally be divided into two sects, the Mahayana and the Theravada. The Theravada sect, the eldest, is commonly referred to as the tradition of the elderly (Hansen 4). The basic belief is that your station in life is directly related to the spiritual state of your soul. According to the beliefs, enlightenment is reserved for a select group of religious figures and scholars (Clark and Brown 5). As can be expected, the Theravada sect is less commo n. Followers of the Theravada are more commonly found in Thailand, Sri Lanka, and Burma (Hansen 4). The second sect, the Mahayana, is the youngest one. It is commonly referred to as the Greater Vehicle. Mahayana differs in that it subscribes to the belief that all people can attain enlightenment through the help of a teacher. Members of the Mahayana hold to the notion of group salvation, as opposed to individual accomplishment (Clark and Brown 4). The Mahayana sect is more prevalent in Buddhist communities, and far more practiced than the Theravada. .u7e4ed073a10bf5747c5c9dce78e4ca51 , .u7e4ed073a10bf5747c5c9dce78e4ca51 .postImageUrl , .u7e4ed073a10bf5747c5c9dce78e4ca51 .centered-text-area { min-height: 80px; position: relative; } .u7e4ed073a10bf5747c5c9dce78e4ca51 , .u7e4ed073a10bf5747c5c9dce78e4ca51:hover , .u7e4ed073a10bf5747c5c9dce78e4ca51:visited , .u7e4ed073a10bf5747c5c9dce78e4ca51:active { border:0!important; } .u7e4ed073a10bf5747c5c9dce78e4ca51 .clearfix:after { content: ""; display: table; clear: both; } .u7e4ed073a10bf5747c5c9dce78e4ca51 { display: block; transition: background-color 250ms; webkit-transition: background-color 250ms; width: 100%; opacity: 1; transition: opacity 250ms; webkit-transition: opacity 250ms; background-color: #95A5A6; } .u7e4ed073a10bf5747c5c9dce78e4ca51:active , .u7e4ed073a10bf5747c5c9dce78e4ca51:hover { opacity: 1; transition: opacity 250ms; webkit-transition: opacity 250ms; background-color: #2C3E50; } .u7e4ed073a10bf5747c5c9dce78e4ca51 .centered-text-area { width: 100%; position: relative ; } .u7e4ed073a10bf5747c5c9dce78e4ca51 .ctaText { border-bottom: 0 solid #fff; color: #2980B9; font-size: 16px; font-weight: bold; margin: 0; padding: 0; text-decoration: underline; } .u7e4ed073a10bf5747c5c9dce78e4ca51 .postTitle { color: #FFFFFF; font-size: 16px; font-weight: 600; margin: 0; padding: 0; width: 100%; } .u7e4ed073a10bf5747c5c9dce78e4ca51 .ctaButton { background-color: #7F8C8D!important; color: #2980B9; border: none; border-radius: 3px; box-shadow: none; font-size: 14px; font-weight: bold; line-height: 26px; moz-border-radius: 3px; text-align: center; text-decoration: none; text-shadow: none; width: 80px; min-height: 80px; background: url(https://artscolumbia.org/wp-content/plugins/intelly-related-posts/assets/images/simple-arrow.png)no-repeat; position: absolute; right: 0; top: 0; } .u7e4ed073a10bf5747c5c9dce78e4ca51:hover .ctaButton { background-color: #34495E!important; } .u7e4ed073a10bf5747c5c9dce78e4ca51 .centered-text { display: table; height: 80px; padding-left : 18px; top: 0; } .u7e4ed073a10bf5747c5c9dce78e4ca51 .u7e4ed073a10bf5747c5c9dce78e4ca51-content { display: table-cell; margin: 0; padding: 0; padding-right: 108px; position: relative; vertical-align: middle; width: 100%; } .u7e4ed073a10bf5747c5c9dce78e4ca51:after { content: ""; display: block; clear: both; } READ: West African Art EssayThe main difference between the two sects is how they interpret the texts. The Mahayana views the texts more liberally, emphasizing an equal chance for all humans to achieve enlightenment (Clark and Brown 4). The way to enlightenment involves many rituals and practices. Tibetan Buddhist tools for awakening also promote relaxation and healing (Dharma Haven 1). Meditation is key to Buddhists. Before one can attain enlightenment, one must gain what is known as the four circles. The first circle is called the Fire of Wisdom. It is the outermost circle and consists of the purifying fire (Hansen 2). The second circle is called the Vajra circle. It is symbolized as the diamond circle, expressing ones fearlessness and strength. The third circle is the Tombs. This circle consists of eight tombs, each signifying the eight states of consciousness, which a person must work beyond. The fourth circle is the Lotus circle. This circle represents the open state of devotion (Hansen 2), which is necessary to achieve enlightenment. Another practice among Buddhists is the Eightfold Path. One must follow the Eightfold Path, much like Christianitys Ten Commandments, in order to purify ones self and reach enligh tenment. They are1.Right belief2.Right resolution3.Right speech4.Right action5.Right living6.Right effort7.Right thinking8.Peace of mind through meditation (Hansen 4). These along with other beliefs help mold the theology behind Buddhism. In all, Buddhism is a rich religion that affects the lives of millions of people throughout the world. Most importantly, Buddhism is a religion for all people. The religion emphasizes personal enlightenment as opposed to salvation from a higher being. The religion teaches that salvation lies in your own hands, and you are ultimately responsible for what you do, and the consequences that you face. Buddhism molds several ideologies and religions into its practices, appealing to a wide number of people, searching for salvation. Buddhist thought has helped to shape the lives of people as well as political institutions. In Japan Shintoism, the ancient cult over which the imperial family presided, had been largely eclipsed by Buddhism (Ralph et al 34). Aspects of the religion have also moved into the U.S., Growing interest in Asian culture and spiritual values in the West has led to the development of a number of societies devoted to the study and practice of Buddhism. Zen has grown in the United States to encompass more than a dozen meditation centers and a number of actual monasteries (McDermott 2). The Buddhist religion encompasses a large spectrum of people all diverse but united under the words and teachings of Siddhartha Gautama.Works CitedClark, Laura, and Suzanne Brown. Professional IT Culture Occidental Engineering
Question: Discuss about the Professional IT Culture for Occidental Engineering. Answer: Introduction The report depicts IT professional risks occurred in a large engineering firm namely as Occidental Engineering. The software engineer Mr. Wayne Davison was working on Operation Safe Skies a building prototype project (Schrum et al., 2013). While working under the project, the organization and the employees faced several ethical issues. The report will provide a defense on IT culture in turns of ethical grounds based decision making. During analysis various risks come under focus. Firstly, the project manager Deborah and the software engineer Wayne were just trying to determine the time to be taken in order to fix the machinery issue. On the basis of certain principles and benchmark they tried to satisfy their duties (Nguyen, 2014). These issues raised as the company just wanted to survive in the competitive environment. The report will provide ethical codes generated by Australian Computer Society. The reason behind the occurrence of ethical dilemma is the norms and policy of the organization. The situation of Occidental Engineering is fictional but difficult to impulse and it elaborated various crucial ethical points. Evaluation of ACS values against the philosophical theories In the year of 1992, ASC provided an overview of ICT based ethical issues (Joshi et al., 2013). The issues majorly indicate fatalities that have been occurred due to tragic software coding. There are around six codes relevant to ICT ethical issues. The codes are as follows: The primary of the public interest: the software engineering code of ethics is a practical framework required to make moral organizational decisions (Joshi et al., 2013). The decisions are taken based on the software engineer issues that are affecting the organization. According to this code of action public interests get more values above personal interest. In this case study, the software engineer Wayne was working on a software project and the project methodology used is prototype modeling. However, during after the completion of the project when it was handed over to the software engineer for testing he found that, certain little issues existing in the project (Alvesson Sveningsson, 2015). Due to the presence of several aircrafts within a single system, sometime the system was losing the flow of the track. Nevertheless, for organizational existence the project manager advised to launch the software without proper testing. The issues kept private though was not consistent with pu blic interest. The enhancement of the quality life: The advanced ICT management system puts specified impact on the society that enhanced the life quality of the public and also reduces the disabilities. The air traffic control system is one of the important parts of the aerospace division. Thus, the quality of the product should be enough good for the public interest. As the manager was not ready to take such a loss for the company thus, he decided to deliver the flawed product (Tong, Tak Wong, 2015) In order to enhance the quality of the life the company should think about each and every single part of the complete project. For the safely and security of the public this play a crucial role. The personal satisfaction of the project manager hampered the overall system. Honesty: It is referred to as the trustworthiness of the public and of the stakeholders. The professional decision made by the manager of Occidental engineering of aerospace company do not wanted to miss the deadline provided by the client and thus, she forced the testing engineer to deliver the product without proper testing (Hogan Coote, 2014). This is a major dishonesty towards the clients. It was clear that the faulty product will not run properly without appropriate features. The software engineer was doubtful whole signing off from the role. Competence: Competence is referred to as the ability of thee expert team and the products produced by them accordingly. During analysis of this case study it is defined that, the employees are enough capable. The track of the system was losing the flow due to presence of too many aircraft systems (Center, 2014). The employees working on the project were determined that they can resolve or fix the issues but they need some time for the coding and testing. On missing deadline and cost overruns the government has certain policies so they are quite afraid of it. The assurance provided by the employees proves that they are capable enough in their allocated job role. The employees are too much responsible for their role in the organization. The employees are educated but the financial condition of the company was not supportive in nature. Processional development: In order to develop the professional relationship and quality of the products technical development is required to be adopted by the organization. The employees of the company are expert but according to the changing times more technical adaptation was needed (Nguyen, 2014). The organization was lagging it. Moreover, motivation and training and development of the IT professional were absent which was another ethical issue. Altitude changes from the assigned one, contradiction in critical maneuver, discretionary of the pilot re other issues relevant to it. Though the manager gave his approval but still it was not al l safe for the consumers. Professionalism: In professionalism the employees should avoid certain things such as they are needed to be impartial, information disclosure (Alvesson Sveningsson, 2015). They must respect other employees, initiative in responsibilities to maintain the integrity, sharing technical knowledge to improve the abilities of the employees. The engineer denied doing improper works but he did not disclose the organizational issue to the public. ACS generated the ethical codes for professionalism. In this particular case study, it is defined that the employees were bound to provide the product within the given deadline as the manager was not ready to lose the project (Mahaux et al., 2013). The organization did not acquire all the required improvement facilities and thus, they were suffering from various ethical issues. Apart from this, to resolve the unethical behavior they did not adopted appropriate actions. According to the contract it was clearly mentioned that, the delivered software sh ould have to be in proper working condition. Identification of the potential consequences to the project client Risks evolved in Occidental Engineering Technological risks were raised within the organization. According to McFarland, (2012) simultaneous satisfaction for all the requirements is not possible from the ethical a well as from the corporate perspective. Ethics is referred to as n practical science. Sometimes it become necessary to compromise with the system and some of the demands based on the rate of priority were developed by the organization. The risks oriented in this case are as follows: Dignity of the employees: Human dignity is one of the most considerable factors (Ortega Toro, 2016). The case study recognizes the primacy of ethics in human life. It gives protection and privacy the human life (Center, 2014). The faulty aircraft system would have hampered the life of others thus, the human dignity was not so far considered properly. Management issue: The organization had faced many other issues that hamper the overall system of the organization. There was not a single set of norm followed by different organizations rather Occidental Engineering had certain particular norms and regulations to be followed by the organization (Mahaux et al., 2013). In order to avoid cancellation of the project the company had adopted some moral judgments. The manager of the project had undertaken a judgment whereas the testing engineer obtained simulating judgment for the organization. The test engineer stated that the project is similar to a car that does not possess any brake. It means that the car is a risk to the passengers. Similarly, the imperfect aircraft is a life risk for all of those who are going to use it. Autonomy: The autonomy of the human subject must be always respected. The ethical, social and political life of their community is strictly based on the financial position of the company (Center, 2014). The financial structure of the company was not up to the mark and thus the repeat changes were too much time taken. Victims of the risks The victims of the risk involved the software tester Wayne Davidson and the project manager Deborah Shepherd of Occidental Engineering and the client of the aircraft (Ariza-Montes, 2014). From the ethical perspective, it had been defined that, the major risks was faced by the manager of the project as she was in the top most position of the company. The clients demanded for a certified product without any imperfection but during testing period the software developer noticed that, as lots of aircraft systems were present within the product thus the system was losing track during execution (Ariza-Montes, 2014). The other software engineers of the company demand for some extra time to fix the issue. However, due to lack of time the manager of occidental engineering company refused to give them extra time. With the hidden fault the manager decided to hand it over to the client of the product. After analysis of the situation it has been determined that the project manager faced the major risk. As she made commitment to the client of that particular product, due to financial risks they were unable to meet the requirement of the client. If the issues are recognized by the client then the manager will be a financial victim (McFarland, 2012). Similarly, considering the corporate ethical aspect, software developer realized that the product was not meeting all the clients requirements and therefore, if any complaint arises from the client side then, it will be risk to the tester. Finally, the main victim is the client as, the company planned to provide them a faulty product with hidden imperfections. Duty of the project manager of Occidental Engineering The manager of Occidental Engineering Company is the top most managerial level employee and he was bound to act the main role for the company (Chatman et al., 2014). He had the responsibility of all other working employees. If the case study is considered then, it can be said that, she must not allow the launching of the aircraft with the hidden faults, rather she must request for extra time, to resolve the machine orient issue. Thus, it is defined that, she should not break the rules of ethics. Only, in order to avoid the financial risks she must not allow the employees to deliver the product to the clients (McFarland, 2012). The duty of the project manager is to maintain the organization culture including the behavior of all the individual employees working for the company. She must be aware of the deadline of the project before 3 days of the submission. Duty of the software engineer of Occidental Engineering The software engineer of Occidental Engineering Company is also the testing engineer of the particular project (Hogan Coote, 2014). The responsibility of the developer is to motivate all the employees working under the project and also he must monitor the process of the work flow. Apart from this, the developer should have enough knowledge about the project that he is going to develop. Considering the Occidental Engineering case study, it has been defined that, the software developer was trying to maintain the ethical approach of the organization. Not only this but also When he realized the exact fault he denied to deliver the project to the client (Panuwatwanich Stewart, 2012). The duty of the software engineer is to build a perfect project for the clients. The software tester should make sure the quality of the product before 3 days of the deadline. Technologies adopted to resolve the ethical dilemma occurred in Occidental Engineering There are different technologies that should be adopted by the organization to resolve the ethical dilemma. The faults can be resolved by adopting different advanced technologies. These are as follows: Reduce cultural barrier: The cultural barriers existing among all the working employees of the company should be reduced by adopting open communication. In open communication system the top level managers are bound to listen to all the other employees (Xi, Zhang Ge, 2012). Thus, there is a chance to the employees to share their view point with the others. Motivation: Instead of provide support to the bad ethical approaches the project manner of the company should motivate the employees to work under proper approaches (Mahaux et al., 2013). Expert team: The organization should adopt different advanced technologies. So that, the technical issues can gets resolved easily. The team must have enough knowledge regarding ICT project management (Joshi et al., 2013). The expert team should be aware of all the single ICT application in the practical field such as designing, coding and testing. Training and development program: The organization should arrange certain training and development program to enhance the knowledge the employees according to the emerging technologies. Conclusion From the overall discussion it can be concluded that, the report has provided a defensive ethical ground to the company. The figure provided in the case study described that, Occidental Engineering Company is working on a project on SafeSkies for Federal Aviation Agency. Uncertainly and organizational conflict is another issue occurred due to the test result of the software. Then, they are forced to select between two situations such as compromising with the organizational difficulties and to deliver defective products. The operation project had reported to the project manager and the test manager also reports to the project manager of the company. The ethical dilemma implies that the wrong working progress hampered the overall system and in order to develop the ICT management certain recommendations are also mentioned.
